Private Pilot Expedition Georgia 2026. The Portal Is Open. The Journey Begins Today.

Private Pilot Expedition Georgia 2026 – A fleet of European pilots flying from Luxembourg to Georgia, connecting Europe and the Caucasus through aviation, culture and friendship.

The Portal Is Open.
The Journey Begins Today.

After months of preparation, the registration platform for the Private Pilot Expedition Luxembourg–Georgia 2026 is live. Here is what you can expect when you apply.

Ready to fly to Georgia ?

When we flew to Georgia for the first time in 2016, coordinating a group of pilots meant a flurry of emails, a shared spreadsheet and a considerable amount of improvisation. It worked — just about. For an expedition of this scale, departing Luxembourg on 29 August 2026, a different approach was needed entirely.

Today, that approach is ready. The registration portal for the Private Pilot Expedition Georgia 2026 is officially open at expedition.privatepilot.lu. If flying more than 4,000 nautical miles across Europe to the edge of the Caucasus appeals to you, this is where the adventure starts.

A special moment in European general aviation

The timing of this expedition is no coincidence. Our arrival in Georgia coincides with the opening of the Ambassadori Aviation Village in the Kakheti wine region — a new destination for private aviation at Europe's eastern frontier. Georgia is also increasingly in the European consciousness as a recognised EU candidate country, making this a journey with genuine cultural and diplomatic resonance.

The expedition is organised under the Patronage of the Honorary Consulate of Georgia in Luxembourg, with the support of AOPA Luxembourg, AOPA Türkiye, and navigation partner SkyDemon. It is a personal, non-commercial initiative — built by pilots, for pilots.

"Beyond the flying, this expedition has a strong cultural, educational and friendship-oriented character — promoting direct exchanges between European pilots, Türkiye and Georgia through aviation and discovery."

What the portal actually does for you

The honest reason we built our own platform is that coordinating permits and fuel for a group of aircraft crossing non-EASA airspace is genuinely complex. Organising it through scattered emails generates hundreds of individual messages and almost inevitable gaps. The portal solves this in a structured, GDPR-compliant way.

Here is what you can expect once your application has been reviewed and accepted:

  • Your own crew dashboard — a single place where everything related to your participation lives, from document uploads to confirmations and route details.
  • Intelligent document generation — the system uses the information you provide to automatically prepare declarations, powers of attorney and permit applications for Turkish and Georgian authorities. No Word templates, no manual reformatting.
  • Fuel planning by leg — your per-leg uplift estimates are aggregated across all crews, giving the expedition team a clear picture of what is needed at each stop so that fuel can actually be arranged.
  • Accommodation coordination — room counts roll up per night stop. Hotels with pre-arranged blocks receive accurate numbers; booking links for the others are provided through the dashboard once you are registered.
  • Route preferences and consents — everything is handled in one interface, adapted to your aircraft type and country of registration. You only see what is relevant to you.
  • Payment tracking via SEPA — no online payment processors, no subscriptions. Participation fees are handled through traditional bank transfer, confirmed through the platform.
  • SkyDemon expedition licence — participating crews receive access to a dedicated SkyDemon licence for route preparation, NOTAM briefings and in-flight navigation throughout the expedition.

Your data is stored exclusively on EU-based servers, protected by two-factor authentication for administrator accounts, and shared only with the authorities and partners who strictly require it — with your consent given at registration. The platform has undergone a GDPR review by Nicolas Bannasch of Bannasch Avocats Luxembourg.

Every application is reviewed personally

Places are limited to approximately 26 aircraft in total — 20 European crews and 6 Turkish crews joining for the legs through Türkiye and into Georgia. With around 40 crews already expressing interest, demand exceeds capacity. Every application is therefore reviewed individually before acceptance is confirmed.

The expedition is open to experienced private pilots flying General Aviation or ULM aircraft of comparable performance and equipment — with on-board navigation tools and experience operating across borders into both controlled airspace and grass strips.

Pilots interested in learning more in person are warmly invited to meet us at the Georgian Independence Day Reception on Thursday 4 June 2026 in Brussels.
