JP 15/34 FG glider of Jean Magne

June 1, 2013

Today, I made a one hour flight with a very special glider at the LFMF airfield of Fayence. This plane (F-CRJB) was built some 30 years ago by gliding instructor Jean Magne. Jean is nowadays 83 years old and still a flying instructor. I planned to fly a Ka-6 glider today, but Jean came to…

May 26, 2013

Every year, the UPL ( Federation of Luxembourg private pilots) and my flying club Aerosport organise a navigation refresher. This is a fly out whereby the organizers, Bernard Frechen and his team, puts out a navigation with three legs. The club planes are typically occupied by three pilots, randomly chosen out of the participants. Every…

Springtime 2013. On this beautiful weekend, I agreed with my Belgian friend Ludo Holtappels to go for a small navigation in North Eastern Belgium, taking off in our home base of EBZW (Genk Zwartberg – Limburgse Vleugels). After a rainy week, skies cleared up this morning. Ludo had a great idea:”Let’s go to EBZR, meaning…

2013 : a fresh start

February 5, 2013

I also passed the English proficiency test and obtained the maximal score of 6. That’s excellent news, as it means I never have to pass this language test again…

no activity ?

September 10, 2011

I am busy with building a new house for our family in Luxembourg, which does not leave me much time anymore for flying activities. I guess it will remain quite on this blog until the spring of 2012. I intend to intensify my flying activities early next year. Sorry for 2011.

Flying locally in Fayence

September 27, 2010

What I like about Fayence is the familiar feeling. I come here since 1994 with (large) interruptions in between, and though it always feel as if you left only the day before. They have got the same instructors as when I came here 15 years ago, the same procedures and the same cozy atmosphere. By…

Briefing in Fayence

September 27, 2010

After the splendid flight I made to the Mont Blanc with Michel Trial, I was authorized to fly “solo” again on a glider in the local area (note that I did not glide for two years – although I started gliding thirty years ago) This means in Fayence that you get a Ka 6 at…
